History
of Annesley College
Annesley College
was founded as Methodist Ladies' College (MLC) in 1902 at the site
of the former Malvern Grammar School. By the end of the first two
weeks there were 26 students enrolled. In 1903 it was decided to
move MLC to the site of the former Way College for boys on Greenhill
Road at Wayville.
In 1977, MLC
took the name Annesley College - the maiden name of the mother of
John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church. By changing the
name it was felt we were honouring our traditions whilst moving
forward and embracing the future.
Annesley College
continued to grow under its new name with new buildings erected
at the College to house the student needs.
In 2002, the
College celebrated its centennial year, and is now moving into a
new era.
