RELEASE 2: SCRUTINEERING
Great news
: Eos - The Spiriit of Unley has just passed scrutineering, except
for a minor glitch!
After checking
weights, eye height, safety and licences of the drivers, the car
was tested for registration compliance. Unfortunately the tail lights
were not working, so the support team will have to fix them tonight,
before tomorrow's time trials. Hopefully the problem is just a loose
wire. The car passed electrical compliance and battery checks with
flying colours!
This evening,
the team has been invited to attend an Old Scholar's Function at
the MGM Grand (former Scholar Melissa Paterson is in charge of PR
there). They plan to make the most of their last 2 days of luxury
provided by the sponsorship of Mediterranean All Suites Hotel, before
taking off for Adelaide bright and early Sunday morning.
Check tomorrow's
Advertiser for an article about the World Solar Challenge - Peter
was interviewed about our car, which has proved to be of great interest
for other participants and the population of Darwin, because it
is so differnent from the other competitors.
Next bulletin
after the race starts!
