The Australian National Curriculum which equips all young Australians with the essential skills, knowledge and capabilities to thrive and compete in a globalised world and information rich workplaces of the current century is embedded in the curriculum from Reception to Year 6. The Annesley Junior School curriculum also encompasses the general capabilities of literacy, numeracy, ICT competence, critical and creative thinking, ethical behaviour, personal and social competence, intercultural understanding and the cross-curriculum priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia and sustainability. Students at Annesley also have specialist lessons in French, Physical Education and the Arts.

At Annesley, we are committed to offering a co-curricular program ‘with a difference’. This program strengthens the community aspect of Annesley by giving students opportunities to interact with and learn from a broad range of people of varying ages and walks of life. Our co-curricular program sits outside daytime teaching and learning and aims to expand students’ skills and experience. Activities can be varied and may include establishing and maintaining an organic vegetable patch; making bird boxes; soccer; yoga; knitting; cooking; astronomy; photography for beginners. Co-curricular activities take advantage of campus facilities including the gym.

Annesley Junior School will provide the opportunity for single-sex and co-educational classes and engagement with other life-long learners in our community. Individual learning needs are clearly identified and understood. We actively collaborate with other providers, especially Uniting Church schools, to facilitate a successful learning journey for students during their secondary years.

Annesley Junior School is a vibrant place of learning. Our students are well prepared to be active, responsible and ethical citizens of our global world. We invite you to come and share our unique learning community with your family.
