Adventure awaits beyond the school gate!

Adventure awaits beyond the school gate on The Quest’s signature experiences that take our learning out into the community. The Quest program provides experiential learning for students from Years 3 to 7 in a range of natural settings chosen to stretch and inspire young learners. Far more than a one-off experience, the learning builds as students visit locations weekly and grow in their understanding of the local environment.

Our enviable city-fringe location is taken advantage of as the students navigate public and private transport and unearth the treasures of Adelaide and its surrounds.

Year 3

The Adelaide Zoo becomes a classroom as the students visit one day a week for a term. Students become zoo members and build on their experience each week as they conduct scientific inquiry into how living things depend on each other to survive. Their Quest experience also includes an overnight camp stay at Belair.

Year 4

Students hit the beach for a six-week Surf Life Saving program at Glenelg Beach followed by a two night camp at Victor Harbor focusing on resilience and team building experiences.

Year 5

Students have a collection of experiences that get them out of their comfort zones and on the road with a 30km bike ride, bushwalking in Belair National Park and a three-night camp stay at Deep Creek Conservation Park. Camp skills are learned around the Trangia as parents are invited for a fireside meal and overnight stay.

Year 6/7

Native flora and fauna are explored for five weeks at Cleland National Park. Professional roles are shadowed by the students to observe and learn from a sustainable government business model.

Next up is the ‘Great SA Road Trip’ covering 1600km and exploring local businesses and camping out in the great Australian outdoors.
