'The Quest' - Annesley's Experential Learning Program in the Primary Years

Year 3

  • Students will become Zoos SA members and visit Adelaide Zoo various Mondays during Term 3 learning skills and behaviour of scientists as they further explore their Sharing the Planet Unit of Inquiry: ‘Living things depend on each other in order to survive’
  • Overnight camp at Nunyara, Belair with Beyond Limits Outdoor Education in Term 2

Year 4

  • A six week Surf Life Saving South Australia program at Glenelg Beach in Term 1
  • A two night adventure based camp at Adare in Victor Harbor with Beyond Limits Outdoor Education in Term 1

Year 5

  • Full-day off site activities every Monday of Term 3 including bike riding, hiking, cooking, public speaking and social justice activities further exploring their Well-being Unit of Inquiry: ‘Understanding ourselves and others helps us to grow and build respectful relationships’
  • A 3 night camp to Deep Creek Conversation Park with Beyond Limits Outdoor Education including a one night shared experience with a significant adult/family member.

Year 6/7

  • Full-day off site activities each Tuesday of Term 2 exploring SA Government initiatives & SA Businesses and Industries and a partnership with Cleland Wildlife Park further exploring their Entrepreneurial Unit of Inquiry: ‘Sustainable businesses are agile and responsive to unpredictable and changeable conditions’
  • ‘Great SA Road Trip’ exploring the Coorong, South East, Coonawarra & Riverland engaging with the regions primary producers with an overnight kayak on the Murray River

Annesley’s students truly have a valued voice in our community and their safety and wellbeing is paramount. We are committed to and act in line with the Child Safe Organisations National Principles. We partner with industry leaders Beyond Limits for our Camps and Experiential Learning programs, including The Quest. Uniting Venues SA has formal oversight of Beyond Limits and as Principal of Annesley, Luke Ritchie is a formal member of the Uniting Venues SA Committee. Beyond Limits is accredited by NARTA (National Accommodation, Recreation and Tourism Accreditation) in line with legislative requirements. Beyond Limits is also a member of the Christian Venues Association.
