Don’t Forget Remembrance Day
Sacrifice is the willingness to surrender our own desires for the sake of others.
On Monday 11th November, at 11am, we will be still for a moment and remember those who have sacrificed greatly – so that we are blessed with opportunity. Allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of those who had fallen in battle during World War I. It continues to be a day of remembrance for all those who have fought to protect their nation.
We can easily go through the motions of day to day life, forgetting the cost paid by others for the freedom we experience today. Remembered specifically on the 11th, sacrifice was displayed through great acts on foreign soil for future generations. But everyday, it can be seen through small acts of service at home, school, work and with our neighbours.
I encourage you to take a moment on Monday to remember and be thankful for those who have sacrificed for you. I also encourage you to make every moment count, where you can make small sacrifices for others, in order to give them every opportunity for success and a future.
