Our School

Annesley Farm

Each Wednesday during Enterprise (between 12.00pm & 1.00pm), some eager young farmers gather and explore their passion for the Annesley Farm. We warmly welcome any other keen gardeners in our community (parents/grandparents) to come and potter, prune and plant alongside these students. If you would like to join the Annesley Farm Enterprise group please make contact with Sandi Grimmett and Jo Rossiter for further details. Please note that it is a requirement for all volunteers to supply to the school a current Working With Children Check.

Staffing Update

Katie Cummins has now commenced maternity leave. During this period Penny White is currently leading the Grevillea Room in a fulltime capacity until Alana Iannazzo joins the team. Alana returns to our community from maternity leave and we are thrilled to have her expertise working alongside our younger learners.

Jess Fosdike has also commenced maternity leave. For the remainder of this year the Wattle room students will be led by the talented Tali Ingram. Tali has recently been relieving across our school and her warm manner and engaging musical skills have been appreciated by staff and students alike.

Jodie Johnson has commenced maternity leave awaiting the arrival of her first baby. We are very pleased to announce that Nicole Schiller will lead Jodie’s very capable ‘Big Receptions’ to a successful completion of the year. Nicole is already known to our students and is an experienced and highly capable Reception class teacher. She has a long relationship with our school as she has taught across various year levels and has more recently been supporting our Visual Arts program.

Rachel Norman will commence teaching with Liezel Sellars in the Visual Arts program from next week. Rachel is a very experienced teacher having taught here in Australia and in International IB schools. She and Liezel Sellars have previously worked alongside each other in the Arts. Rachel will teach on Thursdays.

Penny Marshall will be continuing to teach alongside Dylan Colsey in Base 6/7 for the remainder of the year supporting our dynamic student leaders.

We are very pleased to announce that Lauren Botheras will soon be joining the Eucalypt team as a Co-educator. Lauren is Diploma qualified and has many years of experience in early childhood education and the retail sector. She has great interest in nature play and the environment as a provocation for learning opportunities.

Over the coming months both Victoria Stefano, from Term 4, and Sheenu Sharma, from January 2021, will be taking maternity leave. We are currently recruiting for new team members to join the Wattle room and announcements will be made in due course.

School Drop Off

A friendly reminder that if families do need to drop children off in the morning prior to 8.30am to please utilise Annesley’s OSHC (Before School Care) as our classrooms do not open until 8.30am.

The Quest

The last fortnight has seen our students in Years 5-7 exploring concepts of homelessness, equity, justice and empathy through visits to Hope’s Café, learning about the Don Dunstan Foundation’s Adelaide Zero Project and scenario challenges in the Adelaide CBD. Year 5 students on Monday this week learnt the art of cooking a meal on a Trangia stove in preparation for their three night camp in Deep Creek next week. Year 6/7 visited Cleland Wildlife Park again this week furthering their student-led research projects around the park.
