This month we are learning about the value of RESILIENCE. Knowing how to bounce back. Our most recent Valuable Action goes further than just seeing us bounce back.
From disappointment I can rise, to stretch myself and reach new heights.
There can be times when we feel discouraged. When we feel frustrated. When we feel disappointed. When we face a challenge that gets us down. How do you respond? Do you demonstrate resilience and the ability to rise above whatever fears or worries you might experience?
“But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will be able to rise up as an eagle in the sky. They will run without needing rest. They will walk without becoming tired.” Isaiah 40:31
These words were written to a group of people who were feeling sad, discouraged, lacking confidence, lacking direction. They were living without purpose and hope. They were the people of Israel, and it was during a time when they faced serious trouble and tension. God used a man named Isaiah to remind them of His promise and purpose for them as a people. Isaiah’s words inspired and strengthened the people, reminding them they could return to who they were created to be. To be resilient if you like. But not to just bounce back. To envision how they could rise up and reach new heights.
God invites us to demonstrate resilience in the thoughts and uncertainties we may carry inside. So that as we trust Him, we can feel as though we are able to rise above things which would normally knock us down. When we become stronger and more resilient, we get a far greater perspective of where we are, and where we need to be going. I wonder how you can show resilience today? How can you bounce back from disappointment? Are you willing to be stretched to reach new heights, where you see yourself doing things you never thought possible!
